Q: How do you Add Transitions in Sony Vegas?

Answer: Place TWO separate videos or pieces of Media on the timeline.

Drag one clip over the other one to create a small overlap - example 2, 5, 10 seconds.

Now go to the Transitions Tab and drag a template down to the Timeline and place it in the overlap.

Your done.

transitions-2 Open the Transitions TAB in Vegas and then Drag a Template onto the "overlap" area

transitions-3 You can now tweek the controls and settings for your Transition before closing the window down. If you need to change any Transition settings later, right-click in the overlap area and select Transition Properties from the menu that appears.

Hello, I have some difficulties to see all the settings for the transitions. I want to make them manually but they are auto. I saw on a video how to do it but all I have in the transition window is the name of the transition and the angle. I tried to delete the temporary files cache but nothing changed.

  Using Google Translate:
  If you don't see the Transitions window, I recommend you do a reset of Vegas. This will delete the temporary files cache and restore all settings.

One more point: if you're transitioning between photos, you have to drag that transition effect pretty precisely to the left edge of the right photo (which will nominally be visible as the left edge of the overlap.) It took some doing to figure out that nuance.
