If you have other programs open at the same time you are using Vegas, that can cause Media to go offline.
Normally clicking on top of the file in Timeline and playing the project, will bring media back online.
If your computer's Hard Drive/s is set to go into sleep mode to save power, after a set period of time, this can make media look like it has disappeared or gone offline temporarily. Once you start being active on the timeline, it can take a few seconds for the Drives to spin back up to full speed and show the media online again. This is controlled by Windows Power Options / Change plan settings / Change advanced power settings.
I recommend turning off
Automatically open last project on startup.
I also recommend turning off
Close media files when not the active application.
These settings are controlled in Options/Preferences/General
âšī¸ Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.
